OtoCoach Driver ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the OtoCoach Driver mobile application (the "App").
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described here, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account or use the App, we may collect:
- Account credentials (such as email address) used for authentication
- Profile information you voluntarily provide within the App
- Support communications you send to us
1.2 Driving and Trip Data
The App records trip-related information to generate driving insights. This includes:
- Trip duration, distance, and timing
- Driving behavior indicators (such as acceleration and braking patterns, speed patterns, and cornering)
- General route information (origin and destination areas, without precise GPS coordinates in AI-processed requests)
- Trip quality scores derived from the above
Most trip-related data is stored locally on your device. Some aggregated driving metrics may be transmitted to trusted service providers for the purpose of generating AI-assisted trip summaries. Precise GPS coordinates are not included in AI-generated trip summary requests.
1.3 Device and Technical Information
We may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Device type, operating system, and version
- App version and language settings
- Crash reports and diagnostic data
- Anonymous usage analytics
1.4 Location Information
The App requires access to your device's location services to record trips. Location data is primarily used locally on your device to calculate trip metrics. As noted above, precise GPS coordinates are not transmitted to AI services when generating trip summaries.
1.5 Subscription and Purchase Information
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not process or store your payment card details. We may receive confirmation of subscription status from the respective platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Provide and operate the core features of the App, including trip recording and driving insights
- Generate AI-assisted trip summaries using aggregated and anonymized driving metrics
- Authenticate users and manage accounts
- Process and verify subscription status
- Respond to support inquiries
- Diagnose technical issues and improve App stability
- Comply with legal obligations
Driving insights provided by OtoCoach Driver are informational only. They are not intended as professional safety assessments, legal advice, or inputs for insurance underwriting purposes.
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are subject to confidentiality obligations. Our current service providers include:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, cloud database, and crash reporting
- Google Maps Platform (Google LLC) — map rendering and location display
- Google Gemini (Google LLC) — AI-assisted trip summary generation using aggregated driving metrics (precise GPS coordinates are not included)
- Adapty — subscription management and paywall infrastructure
3.2 No Sale of Personal Driving Information
We do not sell your personal driving information to third parties.
3.3 No Intentional Sharing with Insurance Companies
We do not intentionally share personally identifiable driving information with insurance companies, insurance data brokers, or telematics underwriting services. Driving insights generated by OtoCoach Driver are intended solely for the personal awareness and use of the individual user.
3.4 No Advertising
The App does not contain advertisements. We do not share your data with advertising networks or ad-targeting platforms.
3.5 Legal Disclosures
We may disclose information if required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OtoCoach Driver, our users, or the public.
3.6 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any material change in ownership or use of personal information.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Most trip-related data is stored locally on your device. You can delete local data by deleting the App or by using the account deletion feature within the App.
Data stored in our cloud infrastructure (such as account credentials and subscription status managed via Firebase and Adapty) is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will remove or de-identify your personal data in accordance with our internal retention policies, except where retention is required by law or where data is held by third-party service providers subject to their own retention policies.
Some diagnostic or transaction-related records held by third-party service providers (including Firebase, Adapty, and Apple App Store / Google Play) may persist according to those providers' own data retention policies, which are outside our direct control.
5. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and you use the App at your own risk.
6. Children's Privacy
OtoCoach Driver is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 17 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- The right to access the personal information we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate information
- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. Account Deletion
You can delete your OtoCoach Driver account at any time directly within the App. Upon deletion, your local account data, stored trip records, driving scores, and related app data are removed from the application. Please refer to our Account Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
9. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services whose privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of:
- Google Privacy Policy (covering Firebase, Google Maps Platform, and Google Gemini)
- Adapty Privacy Policy
- Apple Privacy Policy (covering App Store subscriptions)
- Google Play Privacy Policy (covering Google Play subscriptions)
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
10. International Data Transfers
OtoCoach Driver may operate globally. By using the App, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including countries that may have different data protection laws. Where required by applicable law, we take steps to ensure that such transfers comply with relevant data protection regulations.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
